Springbrook to provide increased functionality and reporting capabilities

Portland, Oregon – Springbrook Software, Inc., a leading provider of fully integrated enterprise software solutions for local government, announces that it has been selected by the City of Snoqualmie, Washington to become their utility billing and financial software applications provider.

Located 28 miles east of Seattle, Snoqualmie sits at the base of the Cascade Mountains and is home to Snoqualmie Falls, a 270 foot waterfall that is one of the most popular tourist sites in the state of Washington with over 1.5 million visitors annually. The Northwest Railroad Museum also draws tourists to Snoqualmie; the museum is home to many restored, full-sized train locomotives and railroad cars that traveled the area from 1889 to the present. Incorporated in 1903, the City has grown dramatically over the past five years due to the development of a planned community within city limits. Currently, Snoqualmie has nearly 8,000 residents; population is expected to grow to 13,500 by 2010 which will make it the largest city in the rural Snoqualmie Valley.

After 10 years with their current software provider, it became evident that the City had outgrown the system’s capabilities. Of the decision to search for a new software provider, Finance Officer Harry Oestreich states, “We, as a city, wanted to move away from our existing DOS-based, batch mode financial accounting system with limited and restrictive reporting to an interactive, SQL and ODBC-based system that is open and flexible. The intent was to improve our financial operations, increase efficiency, provide greater reporting flexibility, make data available throughout the entire organization and to allow customers the flexibility to access their accounts and interact with the City electronically.”

An RFP was issued in July 2005 and nine responses were received. Based on size of clientele, type of market served and initial price, three vendors were selected to give demonstrations in the spring of 2006; they were Incode, Caselle and Springbrook. Springbrook was selected as the winning vendor based on the following factors:

• Customer Support – Springbrook’s Portland, Oregon headquarters is close to the City of Snoqualmie; client references, specifically the City of Burien, Washington, attested to the fact that Springbrook provides stellar support to its clients.

• Reporting Tools – Innovative reporting capabilities including Query By Example and Visual Reporting Interface are available within the system; the Springbrook system will allow the City to meet the annual reporting requirements of the State of Washington.

• Reference Base – Springbrook has a strong Washington reference base and has considerable experience and expertise in implementing and supporting clients similar in nature to the City of Snoqualmie.
